Scrap Metal Bought

We may be a relatively small player in the European metal recycling market, but we’re an established player on the South West England scrap metal scene. That’s important because, if you’re based in or near Gloucestershire, you may not want to sell your scrap to a big multinational. If you like the idea of dealing with a friendly, helpful, yet always professional metal recycling firm, we’re just up the road (or the motorway) in the Cotswolds.

Buying scrap since the 1990s

If you’re like many UK organisations and individuals with scrap metal to sell, you may prefer dealing with a smaller, more personal, scrap metal buyer. We’ve been buying scrap and recycling it since the 1990s, so we know what we’re doing. And we do business in Europe (and elsewhere in the world), so we can legitimately claim to be members of the European metal recycling (EMR recycling) community – dealing in ‘EMR scrap’.

A fully-licensed family business

Our large and small customers like how we’re a fully-licensed family business in the heart of their region – and community. We’re bang up to date with all the latest legislation (including the changes in the law since the cash ban in 2013). And we always pay fairly and competitively when we buy your scrap metal.

We’re smaller, so we work harder than the ‘big boys’

Because we’re not a global super-company, we understand that we have to work harder and offer an even better service for our customers. And that’s what we do, whether we’re clearing your garage on a Saturday morning or regularly buying and collecting your metal factory waste.

It’s several years now since German environmental technology consultancy ecoprog GmbH published its report on the resurgence of the European metal recycling market (The Metal Recycling Market in Europe 2010/2011 – ecoprog GmbH). While we keep a watchful eye on national and international trends in scrap metal, waste management and recycling, we never forget the local and regional people and organisations that bring scrap metal for us to buy. Thank you!

What scrap metal do we buy?

So what kind of metal do we buy in our corner of the EMR market? Here are examples of the scrap metal we’ve recently bought from people and organisations across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire:

  • Ferrous scrap (including scrap iron and steel).
  • Non-ferrous Scrap (including lead, copper and brass).
  • Vehicle parts and components.
  • Farm scrap and agricultural equipment.
  • Household scrap (including TVs, washing machines, dryers, heaters and small electrical appliances).
  • Computer scrap (including computers and monitors).
  • Electrical scrap (including copper wire and cable).
  • End-of-life vehicles (cars, light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, trailers and plant); we also remove all pollutants before recycling marketable parts and crushing the vehicle on site. Read more about our services for scrap cars

Making it as easy to buy your scrap

As you would expect, we make it as easy as possible to get rid of your scrap, tidy your garage or clear a cluttered factory yard.

Our ‘EMR scrap yard’ is open from 8am–5pm Monday to Friday, and 8am–1pm on Saturday. If you want to drop off your scrap metal and other scrap items, our depot is easy to find on the A46 at Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds.

Alternatively, we’ll collect your scrap on a one-off basis or as part of a regular programme complete with supply of skips. Yes, we offer long- and short-term skip supply with capacities ranging from 8–40 cubic yards (6.1–30.6 cubic metres).
